Four ideas for date night, that don’t require you to leave home!
It’s easy to get caught up in everything that’s going on in your life, but it’s just as important to spend quality time with your partner. Of course, setting aside a date where you can go out and enjoy each other’s company isn’t always feasible. Especially when kids are involved. Instead of worrying about how you’ll never have that date, consider spending time together in the comfort of your home. We’ve come up with several ideas to help you keep the romance alive!
Netflix and Chill
No, we’re not talking about the euphemism. What we really mean is for you to curl up on the couch with your loved one and decide on a movie to watch. While you could go out to the theater and see the latest blockbuster, sometimes it’s more relaxing to stay home. Netflix has such a wide variety of genres to choose from, and you aren’t limited to just films! You could switch it up and start a television series instead. Make a promise to each other that you’ll only watch the show together. That way you’ll be able to spend more time together throughout the week.
Enjoy the stars with a bottle of wine
With the weather warming up and those beautiful summer nights approaching, spending a night under the stars is the perfect way to reconnect. To make it better, grab a bottle of your favourite wine (or any other beverage!). You can even set up a picnic blanket in your backyard and enjoy some delicious food underneath the stars. If you’re worried about getting bored, challenge each other to find as many constellations as you can. If you’re lucky, you may even see a shooting star!
A taste of the world
If you and your partner are feeling a bit more adventurous, then there’s a whole world of food you can explore! We’re not afraid to admit that we’ve become more reliant on cuisine we’re used to. It’s easier to eat foods that you know and love, then it is to try something new. However, date nights should be fun! With your partner, pick a country and make food from that country. For example, if you decide on Japan, you can learn to make sushi or ramen! To make it more exciting, find a map and throw a dart. Whatever country it lands on, you have to make a dish from that area. Of course, if it seems impossible, you can always try again.
Write out your bucket list
Growing up, a lot of us had a bucket list. Whether we wrote it down or just kept it in mind, we all had something we really wanted to do. For some, it was to visit certain countries. For others, it was to fall in love. Of course, as we get older, our interests change and so do our bucket lists. As a couple, there are going to be things that the two of you want to experience together, and a date night centred around that can be a lot of fun. You may even get to learn something new about your other half.
These are just a few of the many dates you can have without leaving the comfort of your home. We get it. Your home is a place that you love to be and there’s nothing wrong with that. Especially, when you get to be there with someone you love.
